Description

The cover is anchored by a Victorian-era woman set against vintage sheet music titled A Rose From You, surrounded by deep floral patterns in muted purples and charcoal tones. Roses, aged paper textures, and soft contrasts give the piece a romantic, old-world feel that’s quiet rather than dramatic.

The lace-wrapped spine is finished with a small decorative metal button and secured with a simple black wrap-around tie. Inside, the pages open to softly aged papers and a rich purple endpaper — details that feel considered without trying to stand out.

There are 40 pages of mixed papers, sewn together and intentionally left flexible. It’s the kind of journal meant to be written in, sketched on, and revisited — not kept pristine.

Each element is assembled by hand, and that shows in the small variations and gentle imperfections. This is a one-of-a-kind piece, and the journal shown here is the one that will be sent.

These journals are made by my great-aunt, Janet Zannini of Tesori Art and Crafts. The stitching, the construction, and the care taken with each page stood out immediately, and that’s why her work belongs here.
